Tabs

Create, Update and Query includes tabs with sections of information. Each tab might include sections of field groupings that you collapse or expand to show more content. Hiding detailed information helps keep the page uncluttered, making it easier to view other sections as needed. To expand or collapse a section, click the section heading.

Create or update a work order by entering details on one or multiple tabs and sections within the tab.

Your organization's administrator sets up a default form within the Classic TMS modules. The display of tabs, field groupings, and fields varies depending on whether it's in Create, Update, or Query mode.

The tabs and fields you see within this content may differ from those configured by your organization's administrator. Use this information as a guideline.

Tabs

Tabs display across the top of the page. To navigate through the tabs, click a tab.

  • Main: Provides an overview of the work order, including required details.

  • Assets: Monitor, add, and remove assets associated with the work order. Work orders connected to an asset form part of the asset's history.

  • Test equipment: Test equipment helps to ensure systems and components operate efficiently, safely, and within regulatory compliance. It has an asset type code of sTST.

  • Procedures: Shops establish specific procedures or tasks for inspections and scheduled maintenance. If procedures were entered into Classic TMS and applied to work orders, you'll need to follow them for the work order to which they apply.

  • Time: Ensures accurate tracking of labor costs related to the work order, important for budgeting and financial reporting.

  • Materials: Add material issues to accurately calculate the total cost of a work order, keep track of inventory levels, and capture material usage.

  • Assignments: Assignments organize workflow and manage workload effectively. They identify who is responsible for each part of a work order, contributing to efficient operations.

  • Contracts: View contract information for the asset that's attached to your open work order.

  • Complete: The final step in the work order process.

Sections

Sections of field groupings display within a tab. To expand or collapse a section, click the section heading.

  • Asset: An asset includes any item requiring maintenance that you want to track, including equipment, facilities, and vehicles.

  • Attachments: Add files and links to work orders. Attachments are included as a section within other tabs, rather than having their own separate tab.
