Create and Edit PM Schedules

Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules are created so that you can prevent problems by maintaining assets, for example, heating/cooling systems, lab equipment, medical devices, or vehicles, according to a regular schedule. PM schedules are templates used to create PM work orders. They are not the PM work orders themselves.

PM schedules contain information that is used during PM generation (automatic or manual) to create the individual PM work order. They contain information about what work is to be performed and what materials are required, as well as scheduling information. The scheduling information determines the frequency for how often the work should be performed. This is the information that is passed to the PM work order when it is generated.

PM schedules are tied to an asset. You can also use PM schedules as a maintenance template for a certain categories of assets, rather than specific asset or asset group.

Due to the differences between standard forms, we have included detailed descriptions of the fields on each tab of each form in the Standard Form Reference sections.
