Configure TMS Print Services
Once you have installed TMS Printing Services, you must configure the client. To get started:
-
Access the TMS Printing Services client:
-
For TMS OnSite: Start menu >All Programs > TMS OnSite > TMS Print Services.
-
For TMS OnLine: Start menu >All Programs > TMS OnLine > TMS Print Services.
-
-
When the client opens, click the Settings tab. Under the TMS Control Panel section, in the Service Address field, enter the web address for TMS Control Panel. This address must be entered before you can continue.
-
In the Frequency field, enter the frequency (in minutes) for how often you want TMS Printing Services to poll TMS Control Panel for new items to print. The minimum for the polling frequency is 1 minute, and the maximum polling frequency is 120 minutes.
-
In the Email Address for Error Notification field, enter the email address to which error logs should be sent. This address must be entered before you can continue.
-
Next, in the Printer Groups area, you will see a list of all printer groups currently set up for TMS Printing Services, if any.
You can add printer groups inside the Printing Services client, or you can add them through TMS later. To add one now, click the Add Group button and then:
-
Select the Database for which you want to add a printer group.
-
Select the database's Segment for which you want to add a printer group. Note that you can have a printer group with the same name for multiple database segments.
-
Select a Printer Group from the drop-down menu, or click the New button next to the Printer Group field, enter a new Group Name, and click OK.
-
Click OK to add this printer group.
-
Repeat these steps as many times as is needed to add your printer groups. If you need to remove a printer group, once you've added it, select the Delete button (the red X) next to the group in the list.
-
-
Click the Save button to save the changes you've made so far.
-
Now, you can move to the Printers tab. Select the Printers tab.
-
Under the Available Printers section, you will see a list of all printers available on the local machine on which Printing Services is installed. Select one or more printers from the list to use with Printing Services.
If you want to use a network printer, rather than a local printer, see this topic.
-
Click the Save button to save the changes you've made so far.
-
Now that you have finished configuring TMS Printing Services, you are ready to start the service. At the bottom of the client window, click the Start button.
