Automatically Print Uploaded PDF Documents

The Print with Documents feature allows you to print PDF documents attached to a work order or another record associated with a work order. You do this by assigning an "Auto Print" status code to the documents uploaded to the work order which you want to be printed automatically when the work order record is printed. Then, when a work order is scheduled for printing via the TMS AutoPrint feature, TMS Printing Services pulls in all uploaded documents marked "Auto Print" and prints them along with the work order record.

Auto Print documents are retrieved in this order:

  1. PDF documents attached to the work order.

  2. PDF documents attached to an asset tied to the work order (excludes documents tied to the asset model number).

  3. PDF documents attached to a work order procedure.

The printing process for a work order with documents marked "Auto Print" will not complete until all marked documents are printed. Meaning, if the work order is scheduled to print, but if printing for one of its "Auto Print" documents fails to execute, printing that work order will be rescheduled.

For steps on how to set up and use one of the two methods for printing PDF documents attached to a work order record, see one of these topics:
