Open an Asset in Edit Mode

When you save a new asset, you are taken to the Asset Edit screen. Additional tabs become available, depending on what form you're using, and you can add additional information to the record, like downtime information and contact assignments.

You can also reach Asset Edit from the menu bar and the toolbar (the toolbar option is only available if you're already on a Assets module screen).

To reach the Asset Edit screen from the toolbar, if you're already on a Assets module screen, follow these steps:

  1. In the Edit field in the toolbar, enter the Asset Number of the asset you want to edit.

  2. Click Load. If found, the asset opens in the Asset Edit screen.

To reach the Asset Edit screen from the menu bar, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Assets > Edit.

  2. In the pop-up window, enter the Asset Number of the record you want to edit.

  3. If you want to open the asset using a form other than the one shown in the Form drop-down menu, select a different form.

  4. Click OK. The asset opens in the Asset Edit screen.

Once you're on the Asset Edit screen, you can modify the asset record, such as add downtime or asset components.

Due to the differences between forms, we have included detailed descriptions of the fields on each tab of the Assets Master (TMS Enterprise) form for your reference in the Standard Form Reference: Assets Master (TMS Enterprise) Form section.
