Overview of the Dashboard

Administrators use the Dashboard to supervise, review, process, and approve activities in the system. When the window opens, it contains the following tabs:

You can sort columns on a tab in ascending or descending order, and rearrange columns by dragging the column heading. You can also change column widths.

Select the Dashboard icon to open the Dashboard window.

Customize dashboard options

Customize the appearance and behavior of the Dashboard by selecting Options in the upper-right corner.

Option Description
Open Dashboard At Startup If Items Exist This option is selected by default. The Dashboard window opens after you log in to EMS if any tab displays at least one item.
  • Show Reminders
  • Show Everyday User Reservations
  • Show Guest Requests
  • Show Analytics
  • Show Wait List
  • Show Reconfirm Dates
  • Show Building Hours Exceptions
  • Show At A Glance
These options are selected by default. They specify the tabs that display on the Dashboard window.
“Thru Today” includes xx Days Prior to Today Specifies how far into the past reminders display in the Thru Today view. The default value is seven.

Activate Flashing Indicator For:

  • Notifications
  • Reminders
  • Everyday User Reservations
  • Guest Requests
Set on a per-tab basis. Specifies when the Dashboard icon on the EMS toolbar flashes if at least one item displays on any tab. Values include:
  • Automatically – Immediately when at least one record displays on the tab.
  • At Startup Only
  • Never

  • Reconfirm Date Reminders
  • Building Hours Exceptions
Set on a per-tab basis. Specifies when the Dashboard icon on the EMS toolbar flashes if tasks on the tab require attention. Values include:
  • At Startup Only
  • Never
