Manage Security

System administrators can configure security settings for Lucernex users in the Manage Security section of the System Administrator Dashboard using these tabs:

  • Page Access: Set controls for what pages a specific user class has access to. Additionally, this page also gives system administrators controls over what users can do on a page after navigating to the page.

  • Actions: Set controls for what user classes can view and utilize in the Actions menu on the right side of the page.

  • Field Security: Set controls for what actions user classes can perform on certain fields. This page is structured the same way as the Manage Data Fields page, and it lists both global and custom fields.

  • Budget Columns: Set controls for what actions user classes can take on budget columns.

ClosedDefault settings behavior

By default, new settings have a value of No Access. This is displayed in Lucernex, however the database does not have a value for new settings until a User Class is updated.

If you update a User Class without configuring a new setting, the audit log records a privilege change for the new setting of add and N (No Access) even if you did not change that setting.

If you update a User Class and configure a new setting, the audit log records a privilege change for the new setting of add and the access level you selected.

This occurs because the database has no previous value for the new setting, but the new setting exists in the Manage Security page, which Lucernex synchronizes with the database.

After the initial update to the User Class, Lucernex only records manual changes to the new setting in the audit log as update records.
