Suspended Monitoring

When refits are due to take place on live sites, it is necessary to suspend monitoring of configured assets, to ensure no false alarms are raised when the Data Manager is removed or updated. Once refit works are complete, the fixtures can be removed from suspension, also referred to as 'brought back online', whenever needed.

It is possible to schedule suspension of assets for future times and dates to ensure the requirement does not get forgotten. You can also create a suspension event to suspend monitoring.

ClosedSuspend assets

It may be necessary to immediately suspend a fixture. This requirement may occur if a contractor is visiting the site and needs to remove the fixture from the Data Manager to fix an issue with the asset. If the asset is unplugged unexpectedly without suspension of the asset on the system, a communication failure alarm and subsequent work order will be raised unnecessarily.

  1. In Observe, go to Sites.

  2. Select a site.

  3. Go to Site Layout.

  4. Select a layout.

  5. Click a controller.

    Controller info appears.

  6. From the Action menu, select Suspend controller.

  7. On the window that displays, choose Start suspension now from the Schedule suspension dropdown.

  8. Fill in the mandatory fields, which are Suspension reason and Comments. You can also schedule resumption.

  9. Click Save.
