Complete/Close a Work Order with the Complete Tab
There are several ways that you can complete work orders in TMS. One way is to use the Complete tab on the Work Order Edit screen.
To complete work orders, follow these steps:
-
In Work Order Edit, select the Complete tab.
-
In the Problem drop-down menu, select a code that describes the issue that generated the work order.
-
In the Cause drop-down menu, select a code that describes the cause of the problem.
-
In the Item drop-down menu, select a code that details what type of item was used to resolve the problem.
-
In the Action drop-down menu, select a code that describes what action was taken to resolve the problem.
-
In the Completion Date field, click the drop-down menu and select the day that the work order was completed.
-
Enter the time that the work order was completed.
-
In the Status drop-down menu, select Completed or Closed.
Note:If you select Closed for the work order's Status, once the work order is saved, no additional changes can be made to this work order (for example, time charges or material charges). It can still be viewed in TMS, but not edited.
-
If you selected Completed in the step above, in the Sub Status drop-down menu, select a Sub Status code for the work order. (If you selected Closed, the Sub Status field is automatically filled in.)
-
If some type of PM action was taken for this work order, check the PM Action Taken check box.
-
In the Completion Comments field, select a standardized comment from the drop-down menu or type in any comments you want included on the work order record.
-
Click Save.
If there are sub procedures or sub-procedure flows on the work order that are marked as required, but are missing reading values or are incomplete, you will receive a warning. The work order cannot be saved until you add readings to the sub procedures or complete them.
