Introduction to the Work Order Mass Edit Wizard

With the Work Order Mass Edit data maintenance tool, you can update the values of several fields on several work orders at once. The following three scenarios represent reasons why you might want to use the Work Order Mass Edit tool:

  1. A technician has been assigned several similar work orders for several pieces of equipment. Once the technician completes all of the work, the technician uses the Work Order Mass Edit tool to charge time and materials to all of the work orders, while also updating their statuses.

  2. A technician who has been assigned several work orders is unexpectedly absent for two days. The hospital uses the Work Order Mass Edit tool to reassign all of these work orders to another technician.
  3. A hospital performs routine maintenance each month on several pieces of equipment. After the maintenance has been performed the Status, Sub Status, and four User Defined Fields are regularly updated with the same values. The hospital creates a custom form with these values set as defaults and then uses the Work Order Mass Edit tool with this form to update the work orders each month.
