Add Assets to PM Schedules
If you create a PM schedule with a any type other than Default, you are required to add at least one asset to the PM schedule. There are three ways of associating assets with the PM schedule.
-
Single Asset - There is a single asset associated with the PM schedule.
-
Asset Group - There is a single asset group associated with the PM schedule. If you are viewing the PM schedule with the PM Schedule (Multiple Assets) form, or any other form that utilizes the Assets grid, rather than the Asset Number/Asset Group fields, the record shows the assets that make up the asset group. If you remove assets from the asset group, they will no longer show on the PM schedule.
If an asset group is added to the PM schedule and you are viewing the PM schedule with a form that uses the Assets grid, a note appears above the list of assets indicating that the asset cannot be edited. The list can only be edited from the PM schedule record if the assets are associated with the PM schedule individually and not as an as asset group
-
Multiple Asset PMs - If you are using the PM Schedule (Multiple Assets) form, or any other form that utilizes the Assets grid, rather than the Asset Number/Asset Group fields, you can add multiple assets to the PM schedule, individually. See PM Schedule (Multiple Assets) Form for more information.

To add a single asset, follow these steps:
-
Open the PM schedule you want to add an asset to using PM Query or PM Edit.
-
Click the Assets tab.
-
In the Add Asset by Asset Number field, enter the asset's number.
-
Press the Enter key.
The new asset is added to the grid. If the asset you entered is already in the list of assets, an error message will appear.
Add an Asset Group
-

-
Click the Assets tab.
-
From the Asset Group drop-down menu, select the group of assets to add.
All assets that are in the asset group are added to the grid
When you add an asset group to the Assets grid, the Add Asset by Asset Number field and the Asset Group drop-down menu are removed from the Assets tab. You cannot remove individual assets that are part of the asset group from the PM schedule.
About Custom Field Values
- Custom field values carry across multiple modules. For example, if an asset record contains custom field values, when the asset is added to a PM schedule, the custom field values populate the corresponding custom fields on the PM schedule.
-
If multiple assets are on the PM schedule, only the custom field values from the first asset are applied to the PM schedule.
