About Advanced Queries
The Advanced Query feature is a powerful tool that lets you to refine your search criteria by enabling you to enter multiple values for a single field and even use dynamic values.
You can use an advanced query to:
- Search on multiple values for items available in a single drop-down menu.
- Search within a numerical range (for example, a meter reading for an asset) or within a date range on a single field (for example, completion date for work orders).
-
Search on multiple text values (the last name of an employee) for a single field.
In addition to supporting the entry of multiple values per field, the Advanced Query functionality also supports:
- Use of OR as well as AND query logic, meaning that you can search for one value OR another value (ex: Engineering OR Maintenance) or one value AND another value (ex: Greater Than [date] AND Less Than [date]) from a field.
- String and numeric fields support built-in criteria such as Greater Than or Equal To, Less Than or Equal To, and Not Equal To.
- Date fields support built-in criteria such as Today, This Week, This Month, Last Month
- Text fields support conditions of Like and Not Like so you can perform wild card searches.
- All fields support Is Empty to find records on which a certain field is blank.
-
Resource/assignment-related and TMS user-related fields support built-in dynamic values such as My Resource and My TMS User Name.
