User Authentication Field
If you want to put an electronic signature on a record in TMS, you can do so by using a User Authentication custom field. A User Authentication custom field serves as an electronic signature.
Since the User Authentication field is a custom field, it must be associated with a custom form. For more information on applying a User Authentication custom field to a form, see this topic.
To populate user authentication fields from the Edit screen for your selected record, follow these steps:
-
If not already selected, select the tab on which the user authentication field appears.
-
Click Authorize to the right of the user authentication custom field.
-
In the User Authentication pop-up window, enter your TMS User Name and Password.
-
If you are an Active Directory user, select your Domain from the drop-down menu.
Only Active Directory users who are tied to a user in TMS can use the authorize feature.
-
Click OK.
TMS validates your credentials, and your user name appears in the field.
If you are an Active Directory user who does exist in TMS, your TMS User Name populates the field.
The user authentication field will now display as read-only, and it can only be changed by selecting the Authorize button and entering a different user name and password.
