Add or Replace Multiple Department Members

The Department Assignment Wizard allows you to add or replace one or more resources assigned to an existing department. (For information on creating a new department to which you can assign resources, see Create a New Department.)

Add Assignments to a Department

To add one or more resources as assignments to a department, follow these steps:

  1. Open an existing department record with Department Edit by clicking Modules > Department > Edit, or search for a department with Department Query by clicking Modules > Department > Query and then double-clicking the record you want to update.

  2. In the Department Edit toolbar, click Assignment Wizard .

  3. Click Next on the welcome screen

  4. Select the record or records you want to update.

    On the Department Selection screen what you see will vary depending on how you accessed the page. You will see the department record you opened if you used Department Edit, or the list of search results if you used Department Query.

  5. Click Next.

  6. On the Assignment Selection screen, click Add Resource.

  7. Enter the resource to assign in the New Resource text field, or select the resource from the drop-down menu

    Click Add to Grid .

  8. To add another assignment, repeat steps 7 and 8.

  9. Click Next when you've selected all of the resources you want to assign to the department.

  10. The Finish Department Assignment screen lists the actions you've specified you want the wizard to take, to complete the process, click Assign.

  11. Once the assignment or assignment replacement is completed, you are presented with the Review Department Assignments Wizard Results screen which lists the completed actions.

    • If you are done adding assignments, click Close

    • To start the process again, click Start Again and return to step 3 above

Replace Department Assignments

To replace one or more resource assignments tied to a department, follow these steps:

  1. Open an existing department record with Department Edit by clicking Modules > Department > Edit, or search for a department with Department Query by clicking Modules > Department > Query and then double-clicking the record you want to update.

  2. In the Department Edit toolbar, click Assignment Wizard.

  3. Click Next on the welcome screen.

  4. Select the record or records to update.

    On the Department Selection screen what you see will vary depending on how you accessed the page. You will see the department record you opened if you used Department Edit, or the list of search results if you used Department Query.

  5. Click Next.

  6. On the Assignment Selection screen, click Replace Resource.

  7. Type in the resource to replace in the Old Resource field, or select the resource from the drop-down menu.

  8. To replace other assignments, repeat steps 7 and 8.

  9. Click Next to proceed with replacing the assignment(s).

  10. The Finish Department Assignment screen lists the actions that are about to be taken by the wizard. To complete the process, click Assign.

  11. Once the assignment or assignment replacement is completed, you are presented with the Review Department Assignments Wizard Results screen which lists the completed actions.

    • If you are done adding assignments, click Close

    • To start the process again, click Start Again and return to step 3 above
