Create a New Department

To create a new department, follow these steps:

  1. In the Modules menu, click Departments > Department New.

    Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.

  2. Enter a unique Department ID

  3. Complete the Name

  4. Select a Segment

  5. Enter a name in the Manager field

  6. Enter a name in the Facility field

  7. If you want to specify a location for the department within the facility, enter it in the Location in Facility field

  8. The Type field is not required.

    Department module Type codes are created in Setup > Departments > Codes. (See the Departments Module Setup chapter in the TMS OnLine/OnSite System Administrator Guide for more information.)

  9. Fill out the Mailing Address with the mailing address for the department if available

  10. Click the Details tab. The Details tab contains a User Defined section with 10 User Defined Fields.

    Department module User Defined Fields are determined by the Type.  You can set up the labels for these fields in Setup > Departments > User Defined Field Labels. (See the Custom Fields and User Defined Fields chapter in the TMS OnLine/OnSite System Administrator Guide for more information.)

  11. Click Save.
