Update data

Admin users can perform Extract Transform Load (ETL) tasks with Excel and TMS. The Update and Import features work in the same areas of TMS. The identifier field will be required for each item to update.

To update existing records in TMS:

1. Export the existing data.

   Include the identifier field of the values inside TMS, for example, Asset Number for Assets, WO Number in Work Orders, or Vendor Code for Vendors.

2. On the Quick Convert Welcome page, select Update Existing Data.

3. Select the mapping source.

4. On the Create Mapping page, click Next.

   The validation process begins. Validation errors, if any, are listed.

5. Review the validation error list.

6. Click Back if you want to make changes to the mapping file.

7. When you are ready to update your data, click Next.

   Once the process is started, it cannot be stopped or reversed. A confirmation message and list of errors, if any, appears.

8. Review the list of errors.

9. If you want to view the log, click the View Log button.

   The log file is automatically saved in the same location as your data file.

10. To save the XML mapping file, click the Save Mapping and navigate to where you want to save the file.

11. Click Finish.
