UMDNS Device Code Options - Hierarchy Validation
The third and final step to setting up the ECRI Alerts module in TMS is selecting the Hierarchy Validation option TMS will use when a user creates or edits an Asset or Vendor record in the system. This option can be set on the Segment or Group level.
There are three hierarchy validation options available to you:
To select hierarchy validation options, follow these steps:
- Go to Setup > Assets > Options.
- In the Options field, select Segment or Group. If you select Group, the additional Group field appears.
- In the Segment field, select the appropriate segment. If you selected the Group option, then select the appropriate group in the Group field.
- Under ECRI UMDNS Device Code Options, select the Hierarchy Validations for TMS to use:
| Option | Definition |
|---|---|
|
Enforce UMDNS Hierarchy |
TMS will not allow UMDNS codes to be used unless the Category/Sub Category codes are valid UMDNS parent/child codes. |
|
No Restrictions |
TMS will use UMDNS codes as Category/Sub Category codes and use non-UMDNS codes. |
|
Warn on UMDNS Hierarchy Violation |
TMS will warn you if TMS Category/Sub Category codes are not UMDNS parent/child codes. |
-
Click Save.
Now that the three steps to setting up the ECRI Alerts module in TMS has been completed, you can begin retrieving new alerts and codes. Move on to the Retrieving New Codes topic to see how.
