What's New in the 2020 Q3 Release

Meridian Cloud is software as a service (SaaS) that is continuously improved. We deploy these improvements to your account (tenancy) as soon as they are completed and tested.

Some of the improvements are minor and are immediately available to you to use. These typically have little to no impact on your data and processes and do not require configuration.

Some of the improvements are part of a major feature that has not yet been completed. These typically can have an impact on your data or processes and might require configuration.

Partial improvements are typically disabled in your account until the entire feature has been completed and tested. Each quarter, we enable the completed major features either for all Meridian Cloud accounts or for specific accounts after consulting with you.

Meridian Cloud Portal and Business Customers

Branding Deployment (November 25-27)

New Accruent branding will be deployed to all Meridian Cloud applications in all non-production and production tenancies. This consists of new black and white headers and footers. For consistency, all headers will display the product name Meridian.
Update Deployment to Non-Production Tenancies (December 2-3)

The new Meridian Cloud 2020 Q3 functionality list below will be deployed to all non-production tenancies.
Update Deployment to Production Tenancies (December 23-24)

The new Meridian Cloud 2020 Q3 functionality listed below will be deployed to all production tenancies. This includes some functionality that Meridian Cloud shares in common with Meridian Enterprise (on-premises).

Branding Deployment to Non-Production Tenancies (Week of November 9)

The PowerWeb and Explorer applications in all non-production tenancies will be updated to introduce the new branding. This update will have a short downtime period that will be communicated to you by email. The branding of the login page and Portal application will be deployed as part of the November 25-27 branding deployment described above.

Administration Improvements

The following enhancements have been made to system administration.

MPS-27155	These document properties are now required to be visible and to contain values in Meridian Cloud Business tier subscriptions. The properties are optional and can be configured by a tenant administrator in other subscription tiers: Classification, Discipline, Plant, Region, Sheet Size.
MPS-27629 MPS-28709	New number format styles have been added to the document revision number configuration to support major and minor revision numbers beginning at 1 as described in Configure the Revision Number Syntax.
MPS-27666	When a user is invited to a Meridian Cloud tenancy or project and they accept the invitation, they are now sent an email confirmation that they are registered and the confirmation message is also logged as described in Audit Email Notifications.
MPS-27704	Upon request via Accruent Support, default values for the Rendition property page of documents can be set. (Meridian Cloud Business subscriptions only)
MPS-28490	Review response codes may now be configured separately for each project type as described in Manage Review Responses.
MPS-28502	Upon request via Accruent Support, document property editing can now be limited to only document types for which electronic signature watermarks have been enabled and only to the user to which a document has been assigned in a workflow. (Meridian Cloud Business subscriptions only)
MPS-28503	Upon request to Accruent Support, the Reroute command can be disabled for all users regardless of their role. (Meridian Cloud Business subscriptions only)
MPS-28710 MPS-27675 MPS-29161	The Sheet Count property now uses a new data type and can be configured between 1 and 4 characters (default) in length.
MPS-28769	The Meridian Cloud Connector installation package has changed to support multiple tenancy connections as described in How do I configure the Meridian Cloud Connector installation? Specifically, the WEBACCESSURL option has been repurposed to LANDINGPAGEURL and the TENANTNAME option has been repurposed to TENANTURL.
MPS-29601	Fixed an issue that could cause a user's membership in the Account Configurator group to be removed if they were removed from any other group.
MPS-29702 MPS-29872	Upon request to Accruent Support, up to 3 custom navigation views with up to 6 levels each can be provided for PowerWeb and Explorer. (Meridian Cloud Business subscriptions only)
MPS-30100	The Start Quick Change and Release Quick Change privileges have been added to the Master Manager role.
MPS-30369	Fixed an issue that could prevent changes to the Tenant URL option in a site cache configuration from being saved to the Windows registry as described in Configure a Site Cache Connection.
MPS-30549	Fixed an issue that could cause the workflow privileges of custom documents types to be lost after an upgrade.
MPS-30558	A new option allows configuration of user registration email address verification as described in Configure a Third-Party Identity Provider.
MPS-30854	The Document Controller role is now granted the Initiate Document Change Workflow action as shown in Project Scope Roles.

Portal Improvements

The following enhancements have been made to Portal.

PowerWeb Improvements

The following enhancements have been made to PowerWeb.

MPS-28504 MPS-30363	The comment log of a document's workflow now shows the month as a three character abbreviation instead of a number. This change applies only to new entries. Entries made prior to this upgrade will remain in the old format.
MPS-28505	An intermediate revision is new created for documents routed from the Rejected or Released state to Under Change.
MPS-28506	When starting a workflow for a document and the document type is Transmission Document or Facility Document or derived from either document type and the Revision purpose property is required for that document type, then the user is prompted to enter a value.
MPS-28619	Additional changes to the look and feel of the Meridian Cloud landing page, login page, apps, icons, and notification emails have been made to more closely align with Accruent branding.
MPS-28674	A new value ~Not specified~ has been added to the Page size, Page orientation, and Pen settings file properties on the Rendition page. When selected, the rendition will use the corresponding setting specified in the source file as described in Edit the Rendition Properties.
MPS-29892	The resolution of hatches in DWG and DGN renditions has been increased.
MPS-30237	Fixed an issue that could cause some Chinese and Japanese text characters to not be found during searches.
MPS-30212	Fixed an issue that could cause the Show and Required options of the Alternative ID property configuration to not work correctly.
MPS-30684	Fixed an issue that prevented electronic signatures from being cleared when copies are made of a signed document.
MPS-30972	Fixed an issue that prevented the prior revision watermark from appearing on older revisions after a project copy is released as a new master revision.
MPS-30973	Fixed an issue that prevented an electronic signature from appearing on older revisions after a project copy is released as a new master revision.

Explorer Improvements

The following enhancements have been made to Explorer.

MPS-28619	Additional changes to the look and feel of the Meridian Cloud apps and notification emails have been made to more closely align with Accruent branding.
MPS-28704 MPS-29537	The column layout and widths of the Assets and Documents lists now reflects the configuration of the As-Built column view in the tenancy configuration as described in Configure View Columns.
MPS-29036	View filters now support the properties defined in the Meridian Cloud tenancy.
MPS-29048	The Documents lists now only show items for which the user has a role assignment as described in Configure Role Assignments For Master Documents.
MPS-29413	Fixed an issue in legacy Explorer that could prevent custom properties assigned to custom document types from appearing in Explorer property pages and search property lists.
MPS-30810	Fixed an issue could cause 404 errors to occur when attempting to view a rendition in a new tab.
