Create or update a Budget using a spreadsheet

  1. Download Budget Spreadsheet

  2. Edit Budget Spreadsheet

  3. Upload Budget Spreadsheet

Download Budget Spreadsheet

  1. Click Budget Creation.

    This displays in the Actions menu on the right side of the page.

    The Budget Creation page opens.

  2. Click Download Spreadsheet link in the Actions column of the budget type you want to edit.

    A dialog box opens.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Click Yes button if you want to include currency amounts from the existing budget in the spreadsheet.

      This will provide you with a copy of the budget template that has the current currency values entered in Lucernex for each line item.

    • Click No button if you do not want to include currency amounts from the existing budget in the spreadsheet.

      This will provide you with a blank copy of the budget template.

      A system download dialog box opens.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • Open the spreadsheet in your spreadsheet editor.

    • Save the spreadsheet to a location on your computer where you will be able to find it later.

Edit Budget Spreadsheet

Data entry is restricted to line item rows with a green background color and a distinct border.

  1. Open the spreadsheet you downloaded.

  2. Enter the value for each line item into Amount column of the spreadsheet.

    Your Group Totals and Grand Total will be automatically calculated by the spreadsheet.

  3. Enter any comments for the line items into the Comments column of the spreadsheet.

  4. Save the spreadsheet.

  5. Follow the Upload Budget Spreadsheet procedures below.

Upload Budget Spreadsheet

  1. Click Budget Creation.

    This displays in the Actions menu on the right side of the page.

    The Budget Creation page opens.

  2. Click Upload button below the Template table.

    A dialog box opens.

  3. Select the budget column you are uploading from the What are you uploading?field.

  4. Select the contractor who submitted the budget spreadsheet from the Contractor field.

  5. Enter a description of the spreadsheet in the Description field.

  6. Click Browse.

    Your computer's File Explorer window opens.

  7. Find your budget spreadsheet using the file explorer.

  8. Select the spreadsheet.

    The window closes.

  9. Click Upload Budget.

    The dialog box closes. The page refreshes, and your new budget appears in the Template table.
