Due Dates on Work Flow Form Steps
By default, a work flow form step's assignee and approver due dates are calculated automatically based upon the configuration of the form step. However, if you add the WF Assignee Due Date and WF Approver Due Date fields to the form step, users can change these due dates. When the user checks out the form, these fields automatically populate with the default calculated due date. Then, users can modify the dates as necessary.
At this time, only System Administrators can update due dates. This will be resolved in the 20.12 release.
Please keep the following notes in mind about these fields:
-
To add these fields, your form must have the Work Flow field set.
-
These fields should NOT be added to the kickoff step of a work flow, because the due dates cannot be calculated until the work flow has been kicked off.
-
Both fields auto-populate but are editable by the user if they have appropriate permissions.
-
These fields must be on the form layout for the user to edit them.
-
If a user modifies the date in one of these fields, the system will not automatically update the other field.
If the Approver Due Date is changed to be before the Assignee Due Date, the system will return an error message that reads, “Change the Approver Due Date to a date on or before the Assignee Due Date.”
