Data Inheritance Through Setup Wizards
In the following scenarios, Lucernex will copy the values of fields that have the same script name from one entity to another if those fields are included in the appropriate Setup Wizard:
For example, ProjectEntity.RegionID will copy from the Facility to the Opening Project if this the Region ID field is included in the Setup Wizard.
You can configure certain fields to be excluded from these inheritance rules, or you can use these inheritance rules using custom fields.
To exclude fields whose values are automatically inherited in the Setup Wizard:
-
Click Admin in the toolbar in the upper-right corner of the window.
The System Administrator Dashboard page opens.
-
Click Manage Page Layouts link in the Company Administration column.
The Manage Page Layouts page opens.
-
Select the Manage Sub-pages tab.
The Manage Sub-pages page opens.
-
Do one of the following:
-
Click Build Layout link for the layout.
-
Click
in the cell of the field you want to exclude.

Review all three of the expanding sections below—they are all necessary if you want to use the inheritance rules with custom fields.
For data to be inherited through this process, the data must be entered on a page layout for the entity. Follow the Page Layout Editor procedures to learn how to add your custom fields to a page layout.
To add these custom fields to the setup wizards, follow the Replace Wizard Steps procedures.
Important!
These procedures will only be applicable to the layouts for the Capital Project, Facility, and Parcel Setup Wizards. These wizards use the following global layouts:
-
Facility Wizard [Global Layout]
-
Parcel Wizard [Global Layout]
-
Project Wizard [Global Layout]
This layout is used by both the Capital Project and Opening Project wizard.
