Replace Wizard Steps

You can configure your entity setup wizards to contain additional content that is not included out of the box.

If you follow the naming convention in step 5, bullet 2 for step 2 and beyond, Lucernex will automatically use these steps in the appropriate wizard. No additional configuration is required.

To replace steps in entity setup wizards:

1. Click Admin in the toolbar in the upper-right corner of the window.

   The System Administrator Dashboard page opens.

2. Click Manage Page Layouts link in the Company Administration column.

   The Manage Page Layouts page opens.

3. Select the Manage Sub-pages tab.

   The Manage Sub-pages page opens.

4. Click Add Item in the lower-right corner of the Sub-Pages table.

   The Add Item window opens.

5. Enter the name of the layout in the Page Layout Name AS FOLLOWS:

   • The first page of the wizard should follow this naming convention: [Firm Name] [Entity Type] Wizard

   • All other pages of the wizard should follow this naming convention: [Firm Name] [Entity Type] Wizard Step [insert number here]

     For example, if my firm was abbreviated CONS for Consulting, Inc. and I wanted to configure step 3 of the RE Contract Wizard, I would use the name CONS RE Contract Wizard Step 3.

     Note:

     Do not include the brackets in your name. The brackets are included in the bullets above to indicate that you should enter the value appropriate to the firm and the step number.

     Important!

     If you follow the naming convention in bullet 2 for your other steps, Lucernex will automatically use these steps in the appropriate wizard. No additional configuration is required.

6. Select the primary table this layout will pull from the Primary Table field.

7. Select Yes for the Allow Edit setting.

8. Enter a description of the layout in the Description field.

   We recommend that you add descriptions to every template, layout, or field you create in Lucernex, so that subsequent administrators will understand the purpose and context of the items you create.

9. If you want to initialize the layout of a wizard step from an existing layout template, select the layout from the Initialize layout from existing layout field.

   The Global Wizard layouts are listed in alpha-numeric order by entity type. For example, the RE Contract Wizard steps appear as RE Contract Wizard, RE Contract Wizard Step 2, RE Contract Wizard Step 3, and so on.

10. Click Add.

    The window closes. Your page layout appears in the Sub-Pages table.

11. To configure the step layout:

    1. Click Build Layout link for the layout.

    2. Refer to the Page Layout Editor page to learn how to configure your layout.

12. Follow the Setup Pages Tab procedures to configure Step 1 of the appropriate wizard.
