Capacity Management Setup Guide

Use this guide to configure capacity management for your organization. The setup process establishes the regions, workforce schedules, task types, appointment booking configuration, work groups, and workforce assignments required for capacity calculations.

Setup sequence

  1. Create regions.

Create a region for every service area that requires separate capacity calculations.

  2. Create shifts.

Capacity calculations use shift schedules to determine technician availability.

  3. Create task types.

Create a task type for each service activity that requires separate capacity planning.

  4. Configure appointment window and slot settings.

Each task type must use either appointment windows or appointment slots.

  5. Create work order types.
  6. Create work groups.

Capacity management relies on work groups to associate technicians with regions and task types.

  7. Add dispatchers and technicians.

Validate the setup

After completing the configuration, verify that dispatchers can view the appropriate technicians, regions, task types, and capacity information in the Capacity Calendar View and Capacity Points View.
