EMS Email Functionality Enhancement: Migration to OAuth
To prepare for Microsoft's retirement of Basic Authentication for SMTP AUTH in Exchange Online on April 30, 2026, EMS is updating its email functionality to use OAuth. To maintain compatibility with external SMTP servers, set the global email preference to SMTP and ensure all users have valid SMTP email addresses configured. This change ensures ongoing compatibility and enhances security for customers relying on external SMTP servers.
Key Improvements:
-
OAuth Integration: The Desktop Client now supports OAuth for external SMTP, utilizing Client ID and secret configurations. This aligns with Microsoft's authentication standards and strengthens security.
-
Seamless Transition: The migration targets the DTC Windows client use case, minimizing disruption while preserving essential email capabilities.
-
Customer Responsibility: Customers must configure OAuth on their SMTP or Exchange environments. Learn more about configuring OAuth on your SMTP.

Editing reservation‑level details that don’t affect booking‑level fields, such as the reservation source or a URL, no longer triggers updates to Outlook. Outlook updates continue to occur only for booking‑level changes. |

Automated reports now send reliably throughout the month, regardless of date format. The system no longer uses the GetUSDateTime function, preventing the date‑parsing errors that occurred after the 12th. |
EMS-23934 |
|
The Dashboard now loads within an optimal performance range, typically in under 5 seconds, even with large data sets. This improvement eliminates delays caused by course updates and removes the need for workarounds such as unpublishing terms. |
EMS-23275 |

EMS-21048 |

To apply package pricing across the reservation, select Update Pricing. Invoices now consistently reflect the correct package price. |

Mark bookings as Internal to exclude them from reservation confirmations and invoices. Internal bookings remain visible in the EMS UI for internal management. Only non‑internal bookings appear in external communications. |
