Asset BOM Section
View asset bill of materials (BOM) for materials issued to an asset, indicating the quantity issued. If the same material was issued to the same asset in varying quantities, the system displays the largest quantity issued. You can then view, directly on the work order, which materials and how much of them may be required to complete the repair.
The default page view is List view, which displays all information in a spreadsheet-like format. Card view is where you can view the same items as blocks. You have the option to switch between views on desktop platforms. Click either the list or card icon located at the upper right of the list. Mobile phone and tablet devices only display Card view.
In List view, resize and reorder the columns, and sort them in either ascending or descending order.
Access the Asset BOM section from within the Materials tab.
The Asset BOM list view includes the following columns:
-
Item: The component, part, or material used for identification.
-
Description: Details about the assets.
-
Mtrl category: Refers to the classification of materials or parts based on their function. Categories help organize the bill of materials, making it easier to manage the inventory of materials required for an asset.
-
Mtrl sub category: Refers to further division within a main material category that provides more specific classification of parts or materials.
-
Quantity used: Refers to the amount of each material or part needed to build, maintain, or repair the asset as specified in the BOM.
-
UOM: The Unit of Measure represents the standard measurement in which quantities of materials or parts are counted or used. For example, units of measure might be meters, liters, and so on. The UOM helps to accurately specify and track the amount of each item required in the BOM.
-
Asset number: The unique identifier assigned to a specific asset. The asset number ensures that the BOM is associated with the correct asset.
-
Asset category: Refers to the classification of the asset based on it's type, purpose, or function.
-
Asset sub category: Refers to further division within the main asset category that provides more specific classification of the asset.
