Exceptions

Schedule exceptions enhance the flexibility and accuracy of maintenance planning by allowing for customization to meet specific needs. For instance, you can set exceptions for annual occurrences, ensuring that maintenance schedules are more accurate and reflective of real-world conditions. These exceptions create dates when the schedule should not be generated. You can add a one-time exception for single occurrences or date range exceptions for recurring events.

The Exceptions section includes:

  • Start date: If this is a not a recurring exception, the start and end dates include the year. The exception only occurs one time with the date range. If this is a recurring exception, the start and end dates do not include the year. The exception occurs every year within the date range.

  • End date: See above.

  • Recurring: Indicates whether this is a one time exception or an annual recurrence.

Add a one-time or recurring exception to a schedule at any time. This allows you to adjust your maintenance schedules as needed, ensuring they remain accurate and reflect real-world conditions.

  3. In the Add schedule exception window, enter the following:

    • Recurring:

      • One time only: Occurs once within the year specified in the date range.

      • Date range: Occurs yearly within the month and day range specified in the date range.

  2. In the Exceptions section, locate an exception and select Delete from the Actions menu on the left.

Update exception

You might need to make changes to an exception. For instance, the original reason might have changed, if there's an incorrect date, or a one-time event need to recur annually.

  1. Go to Schedules > Exceptions tab.

  2. In the Exceptions section, locate an exception and select Update from the Actions menu on the left.

  3. In the Update schedule exception window, make changes and click Update.

    The system updates the exception.
