Emission Reduction Projects

In addition to tracking the emissions that your organization emits, Observe allows you to track the projects that your organization implements to save emissions.

To find past and existing events, navigate to Observe > Emission Reduction Projects.

The smart table displays the following:

  • Client name: Clicking it takes you to Project detail, a detailed page describing the project

  • Project name: Name of the emission reduction project

  • Project type: Category of the project, such as certified carbon offset

  • Effective start date: Start date of the project

  • Effective end date: End date of the project

  • Status: Whether the project is active or inactive

Create emission reduction project

To create a new emission reduction project, navigate to Observe > Emission Reduction Projects > New.

Select the project type, assign a name and description, set start and end dates, and indicate if the project is active.

Depending on the type of project, additional fields appear. You may need to fill in the utility type associated to the project, which is essential to calculating the emissions, or the project manager and verification authority for your project.

After saving, you are returned to the main smart table. Click the project to define the unit of measure, associate any sites, and upload files.

Project detail

Within the project details, you can view the project's description, project manager, verification authority, unit of measure, total cost, savings, and total CO2 emissions saved. These emissions count as reductions and don't add to your carbon footprint.

You can also view additional information, such as the project sites, rebates, and upload files that are related to the project.

Associate sites and documents

Once you define the project parameters, you can associate sites to that project. You might choose only one site or many locations, if the project has a wider scope. To do that, click Add project site in Project detail.

Upload any relevant documents, such as product specifications, invoices, or spreadsheets under Project Files by clicking Upload additional project file.
