Bulk Update Asset Connections

You can manage your asset connections to Observe controllers and refrigerant systems on the Connected Assets page and make bulk updates to these connections using the Connected Assets Importer. This provides one location in which to manage asset connections across Observe and vx Suite.

Import asset connection info for bulk updates

You can create and update assets, refrigerant systems, headend controllers, and device controllers all in one place using the Connected Assets Importer. You can also link or unlink assets to Observe controllers and refrigerant site systems in bulk.

1. Go to Assets > Connected Assets and click Import.

2. Download the import spreadsheet using the Import Data Tool.

3. Complete these operational columns in the import spreadsheet to create new items or link/unlink assets:

   • Asset Operation: Add or edit an asset by entering an asset name.

   • Refrigerant System Operation: Add or edit a refrigerant system by entering a system name.

     Enter a value in this column to link it to an asset in the same row.

   • Headend Controller Operation: Add or edit a headend controller by entering a headend controller name.

   • Device Controller Operation: Add or edit a device controller by entering a device controller name.

     Enter a value in this column to link it to an asset in the same row.

4. Save the spreadsheet and upload it to the application through the Import Data Tool.

   Updates made in the spreadsheet are applied on the Connected Assets and All Assets pages.

The Connected Assets Importer prevents some actions, including editing or unlinking a device controller that is not already associated with an asset. An asset associated with multiple systems may appear more than once. If an asset is associated with multiple systems, specify the add or edit operation in one row and leave the operation columns blank.
