Simulate Alarms for Testing

Use the Rules Engine Simulation tool to view all events that trigger an alarm. You can test flagged condition rules and adjust them without running the alarm in a live environment. In a future release, the tool will also show whether an alarm filter is valid.

1. Go to vx Observe > Alarms > Raw Alarms > Simulate Rules Engine.

2. Select the Client, Site Controller, Controller Name, and Alarm Definition for the alarm you want to simulate.

   The tool lists all events that trigger the alarm and indicates whether each event creates a flagged condition. For events that create a flagged condition, the tool also shows the validation gates used to create the issue.
