Overview of Work Order Transfer

There might be times when a work order in one segment needs to be moved to another segment, along with its material charges, time charges, and asset history. For example, a data entry error might have occurred where a work order was entered through Web Request via a page for the Facilities Department, with facilities-related codes, but it should have been entered via a page for the Biomed Department, with biomed-related codes.

Rather than canceling the original work order and creating a new one in the correct segment with the correct codes, you can use the Work Order Transfer wizard to change the segment and other codes so that the correct information is attached to the work order. The work order's original number and former segment are noted in the work order's Requester Comments field.
