Automatically Create New Work Orders for Failed PMs
This option on the Work Order Options screen means that TMS will automatically create a corrective maintenance work order when a PM or PE work order is saved with a FAILPM Sub Status or other Sub Status code of your choosing.
To create a work order for failed PMs, follow these steps:
-
Open the Work Order Options screen (Setup > Work Orders > Options).
- Check the Create Work Order for Failed PMs box.
- Select the Status that failed PM/PE work orders will be saved with. For example, Active.
- Select the Sub Status that failed PM/PE work orders will be saved with. For example, FAILPM.
- Select the Type code for the work order that will be created for the failed PM/PE work order. For example, Corrective Maintenance.
- Select a Status for the created work order. For example, Active.
- Select a Sub Status for the created work order. For example, Priority Escalated.
- Select a Priority for the created work order. For example, Urgent.
- Click Save.
- Click Yes to overwrite all groups or No to save only this segment.
If you followed the example above, when you save a work order with a Type of Preventive Maintenance that is ACTIVE/FAILPM, TMS automatically creates a new corrective maintenance work order as ACTIVE/ISSUED, and Urgent.
