Add an FOB, Freight, Ship Via, or Terms Code

Except for currency codes and tax codes, all other Vendors module codes are entered in the same manner. To add a FOB, Freight, Ship Via, or Terms code, follow these steps:

  1. From the Setup menu, select Vendors > Codes.

  2. From the Segment drop-down menu, select the correct segment for your new code.

  3. From the Code List drop-down menu, select FOB, Freight, Ship Via, or Terms codes.

TMS displays any existing codes for the current segment.

  4. Click New.

    The Code Setup window opens.

  5. In the Code field, enter your new code.

  6. In the Description field, enter a description of the new code.

This is generally longer and more descriptive than the code itself.

  7. Select the Show in New/Edit or Show in Query check boxes as needed.

    • Show in New/Edit - Select this option if you want this code to be available on New and Edit pages.
    • Show in Query - Select this option if you want this code to be available on the Query page.

By default, both check boxes are selected. However, if you do not want the code to be visible on certain pages, you can clear the appropriate check box. If you do not want the code to be visible at all initially, clear both check boxes.

  8. Click Save to save the code or click Another to save and add an additional code.

Once a code is entered you can:

  • Click the Print button to preview the list of codes in the Preview window.
  • Click the Edit button to open the Code Setup window and modify the code.

  • Click the Delete button to remove a code from the list.

Once a code has been associated with a record within the TMS database, it cannot be deleted. However, if you want to keep a code from being used again in the future, you can disable the Show options for the code.

Note:

To find an existing code quickly, use the Search box. Select a code type from the Code List and then type a code, description, or part of either into the Search box at the top of the code grid. (Wildcard criteria is supported with an * before, after, or around the criteria.)
