Key Differences Between PM, PE, and Inspection Schedules
PM, PE, and Inspection schedules typically have procedures assigned to them that are passed to the work order and make up the procedures that the technician needs to complete to complete the work order. However, a key difference between PM, PE, and Inspection schedules is that a PM schedule always has an asset or group of assets tied to it, while an Inspection schedule can have an asset or group of assets but does not require one, an a PE schedule cannot have an asset.
The table below illustrates some other key differences between a PM, PE, and Inspection schedules.
| PM | PE | Inspection | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Has Asset | Yes | No | Optional |
| Next Due Date | Yes | Yes | Yes |
