PM Schedules Business Rules
-
The frequency factor for an annual PM must be greater than 0 and less than 10.
-
A PM schedule with an asset group can only have a schedule type of Calendar or Unscheduled.
-
Exceptions can be set to show or not show based on a module option.
-
The same procedure cannot be on a PM schedule twice.
-
The same resource cannot be assigned to the PM schedule twice.
-
More than one resource can be assigned to a PM.
- If a procedure group is assigned to a PM schedule, the individual procedures that make up the group are assigned to the PM in the order that they are listed in the group. You can reorder the individual procedures if needed.
-
A PM schedule can have multiple exception periods.
-
PM instructions are populated in Work Order requester comments when a PM work order is generated.
- The Type, Active, Unscheduled (On-Demand), and Default PMs field values are created on the PM Create page.
-
A user can duplicate PM schedules.
-
Default type PMs are associated with a category/sub category and upon creation of a new asset with that category/sub category, a PM is created as a copy of the schedule.
-
A PM Schedule with a single asset can have a schedule type of Calendar, Meter, Both (Calendar and Meter), or Unscheduled.
-
A procedure is not necessary to create a schedule type Active PM.
-
A procedure is not necessary to assign a resource to a PM schedule.
- Required fields for PMs are Description, Schedule, Type, Segment, Account, Priority, Status, Sub Status, Skill, Next Due Date, Meter Interval, Next Due Meter, and Frequency.
-
Default values for account, skill, and priority come from the asset.
-
A PM can have multiple procedures.
- Each PM schedule can have either a fixed a variable schedule. These options are mutually exclusive. This selection effects how the next due date of the PM is calculated.
- If the Unique Work Order option is selected, the PM schedule always creates a new and unique work order when the PM is due. This means that the PM will never be combined with another PM for the same asset.
-
An Active or Unscheduled PM schedule must have an asset or an asset group attached to it. A Default PM schedule does not have an asset or an asset group attached to it.
-
The Last Generated field contains the last date the PM was generated.
-
The Last Completed field contains the date the last PM work order status was changed to Complete or Closed.
- When you select an annual frequency, you must enter the number of years. This must be a whole number that is greater than 0.
-
When you select a Days Interval frequency, you must select the number of days. This must be a whole number that is greater than 0.
-
The next due date is updated automatically from the selected frequency, but might be affected by whether the Fixed or Variable frequency has been chosen.
-
The Last Generated Meter field is updated from what the meter reading was when the last PM was generated.
-
The Completed Meter field is updated from what the meter reading was when the last PM work was completed.
-
The Next Due Meter field indicates the next asset meter reading when the PM will be generated.
-
A PM can be deleted if no work orders were generated from it.
Custom Fields
- Custom field values carry across multiple modules. For example, if an asset record contains custom field values, if the asset is added to a PM schedule, the custom field values populate the corresponding custom fields on the PM schedule.
-
If multiple assets are on the PM schedule, only the custom field values from the first asset are applied to the PM schedule.
PM Duplicate Wizard
-
When a PM/PE is duplicated, all related information is copied, for example, the assignments, procedures, and exceptions are copied.
