Tie Materials to a PE Schedule

If there is a specific tool, manual, or other item needed whenever a planned event happens, you can tie that item to the PE schedule. If you do so, each time the PE schedule is generated into a work order, the item is also issued to the work order.

To tie materials to a PE schedule, the form you are using to edit the PE must contain the Selected Materials grid.

To tie materials to a PE schedule, follow these steps.

  1. Create and save a new PE schedule, or open an existing one.

  2. From the Form drop-down menu, select a form that contains the Selected Materials.

  3. Select the Materials tab.

    The tab may have a different name, depending on the form.

  4. In the Selected Materials area, click the New button.

    The PE Materials dialog box opens.

  5. In the Material field, enter the material item number.

    You can click the Lookup button to locate an item. When a item is located, the Description is automatically displayed.

  6. In the Quantity field enter the number of items this PE schedule needs.

    This can be changed on the PE schedule record or work order material issue later.

  7. From the Warehouse drop-down menu, select the warehouse from which this item should be issued.

  8. Click Save to add this material, or Another to add this material and start another.

Once you've tied materials to this PE schedule record, the materials will be generated into material issues on the work orders created during the PE schedule generation process.

When you're done, you can manually generate this schedule or let it generate via Automatic Schedule Generation.
