Query Types
There are several different types of queries you can use to search for records. You can perform a query on a single field or multiple fields, using wildcards or advanced query criteria. A list of records is returned if more than one record is located by your search.
-
To perform a single field query: enter or select a value for any single field and then click Execute
-
To perform a multiple field query: enter or select a value for more than one field (for example, Status, Category, and Sub Category in Asset Query) and then click Execute in the toolbar.
-
To perform a wildcard query: enter * before, after, or around a text field entry and then click Execute
Example: *AIR returns all the records that end in -air. AIR* returns all the records that begin with air-. *AIR* returns all of the records with "air" anywhere in the field value.
-
To perform a query with advanced criteria: all fields on the Query screen have an Advanced Query button and by clicking this you can select one or multiple criteria to add to your query and then click Execute. For more information see the Advanced Queries section.
