Sub Procedure Setup
The Sub Procedures Setup page allows you to create, edit, and search for sub procedures. To open the sub procedures setup page follow this step:
-
From the Setup menu, select Procedures > Sub Procedures.
A sub procedure is an individual unit of work that is recorded as a procedure reading. You can set up sub procedures for each step in a procedure’s workflow. For example, you might create a procedure called "AHU Inspection Procedure" and create data reading sub procedures for each step of the inspection procedure where your technicians will record data.
You can create the following types of sub procedures:
-
Choice List – This type of procedure reading will include a label and an optional message, and the reading result will be a value or text, or a combination of values and text, depending on how the choices list is configured.
- Data Reading – The result of this type of procedure reading will be a value and will include a data label. An example of a Data Label is hour meter readings for an asset.
-
Notes/Comments – This type of procedure reading will include a text field, like other comment fields in TMS, where notes will be recorded per the sub procedure’s instructions.
- Yes/No Reading – The result of this type of procedure reading will be a Yes or No flag on the sub procedure indicating that the technician took a reading. Many users need to visually inspect assets and then answer Yes or No questions.
-
Ranged Data Reading – This type of procedure reading includes a minimum and/or maximum range in which the value you enter should fall.
Sub procedures can be added to any type of procedure except Checklist procedures and can be added more than once to the same procedure. The use and creation of sub procedures is very similar to the use and creation of medTester Checklists and Check Items.
