The Sub Procedures Tab

The Sub Procedures tab of the Procedure Edit page allows you to keep track of sub procedures associated with a procedure. Sub procedures are individual units of work that are recorded as procedure readings. You can set up sub procedures for each step in a procedure. For example, you might create a procedure called "AHU Inspection Procedure" and create data reading sub procedures for each step of the inspection procedure where your technicians will record data.

There are three types of sub procedures:

  • Data Reading – The result of this type of procedure reading will be a value and will include a data label. An example of a Data Label is hour meter readings for an asset.
  • Notes/Comments – This type of procedure reading will include a text field, like other comment fields in TMS, where notes will be recorded per the sub procedure’s instructions.

  • Yes/No Reading – The result of this type of procedure reading will be a Yes or No flag on the sub procedure indicating that the technician took a reading. Many TMS customers need to visually inspect assets and answer Yes or No questions.
