Materials Options

Since every organization has different needs, you can use the Setup module to customize the way TMS creates and processes materials.

To set materials options, follow these steps:

1. From the Setup menu, select Materials > Options.

2. Set the options by selecting or clearing the following check boxes:

   • Allow direct editing of Average Cost – Selecting this check box allows users to edit the Average Cost field on the Material Edit page, affecting all future material issues on work orders and future purchase order pricing. Enabling this option eliminates any activity trail for a material item.

   • Allow direct editing of Quantity on Hand – Selecting this check box allows users to edit the Quantity on Hand field in the Material Warehouse window.

   • Allow Non-Inventoried Items – Selecting this check box enables the materials-on-the-fly option.

   • Prompt to create a new Material for Materials on the Fly (Line Items) – Selecting this check box allows users to create a new material from the Materials on the Fly window. This option affects material issues in the Materials module and the Work Orders module.

   • Show X12-850 Fields on Material Issue – Selecting this check box displays the fields related to the X12-850 interface on material issues. It only applies to users of this interface.

3. Click Save.
