Data Source Form - Data Source Editor Tab
After saving a new data source record, the Data Source Editor, Reports, and Security tabs appear. Use the Data Source Editor tab to format the data retrieved by the data source.
Data Source Editor sub-tab
| Designer Area | Description |
|---|---|
| Suggested Fields and Field Library | These expanding lists display the data fields available to add to the data source. |
| Column Area drop zone | Drag and drop data fields here to include them in the data source. Rearrange the fields after dropping them into this area. |
| Errors or sample data |
If errors occur based on the fields in the Column Area, they appear in the middle area under the Errors heading. If the Column Area is empty, the section displays "Data Source is not valid." If no errors exist, this area displays a real-time view of the data returned by the selected fields. |
| Filter By drop zone | Drag and drop data fields here to filter the data returned by the data source. This drop zone is only available when a saved query or the "On-The-Fly" option is not selected on the Main tab. |
Advanced sub-tab
The Advanced sub-tab contains the Joins area. Select SQL tables to join on the data source. This is similar to the Tables tab used when creating Advanced Reports in other TMS products.
SQL sub-tab
Select the SQL sub-tab to view the SQL statement created by the fields and table views added to the data source. TMS generates the SQL statement automatically as you build the data source.
