Report Query Business Rules

Text box controls do not allow any illegal characters like commas (,), single quotes ('), or dollar signs ($).  The only exception to this is that the Description field can contain commas.

When the segment changes, all of the combo box values are set to the blank row.

The Sub Type Advanced Query button is disabled until a report type is selected.  

The field's control is disabled and the text contains {Advanced Query Set} when creating advanced criteria in any field.

The field's control text is empty after removing an advanced query.

Sub Type control and its advanced query button are disabled after creating a Type advanced criteria.

Sub Type drop-down menu is populated based on the report Type selection.

Sub Category drop-down menu is populated based on the Category selection.  

Changes are not tracked when creating a query.  The user will lose any changes made to the query form.

A report can be loaded by double-clicking on the selected record.

Icons available are New, Save, Query, Open Query, Delete, Reload Original Values, Undo, Redo, Execute, and Help.

A message box notifying the user that no report has been found appears when the query returns with no results. The initial query values are not deleted.

All the necessary tabs appear and the report goes in Edit mode when only one report is found.

The List tab is the only tab available when multiple reports are found.

Validation is done starting from the Name field to the Sub Category field.
