Prepare to Write Your Designer Report
There are a few steps that you can take to make writing your Designer Report easier.
- Make a list of the fields you want to see in your report.
- Break your field list down into sets within the following categories:
- Header Data - data that shows up only once per report.
- Detail Data - information that might have multiple records for each record in the header data. For example, an Asset Data Sheet has two sets of information. The first set, the header, appears once and contains the asset number, description The second set, downtime information, contains multiple lines.
- Sub-Reports - Decide if sub-reports are needed. If you have more than one set of Detail data, then you need a sub-report for each extra set.
