About the User Authentication Field

The User Authentication custom field acts as an electronic signature on a record in TMS. The User Authentication custom field can be used with any of the main modules in the application. For example, if a supervisor is logged into TMS under John Smith's user name and is completing work orders, he can enter his own user name and password in the User Authentication custom field to "sign" the work order.

User Authentication fields are created with the following criteria:

  • A field name

  • A description of the field

  • A TMS module to which the User Authentication custom field is tied

Since the User Authentication custom field is placed on a form, you can create reports to track who has electronically signed records. For more information on data sources and reports, see this topic.
