Add a Materials Grid to an Asset and PM Schedule Form

To implement a tie between materials lists for assets to their associated PM schedules, you need to add materials grids to both an Assets module form and a Schedules module form.

The Show X12-850 fields on Material Issue option must be disabled to generate PMs with materials. To disable this option, select Setup >Materials > Options, clear the Show X12-850 fields on Material Issue check box, and then select Save.

Add the Materials Grid to an Asset Form

To add the Materials grid to an Asset form, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new Assets form or open an existing form in the Form Designer.

  2. Click the tab labeled New Tab.

  3. In the Tab Name field, enter a name, for example, Materials.

  4. Select a tab layout.

    You can select the Full Tab Layout or a split type, if you want to add more grids/fields later.

  5. In the Show in Mode area, select Edit Mode.

  6. Click Add Tab.

  7. Select the tab you just created.

  8. Expand the Grids list in the elements pane.

  9. Drag and drop the Materials grid onto the tab.

  10. Position the tab where you want it in the tab order.

  11. Click Save to save your changes.

Add the Materials Grids to a PM Schedules Form

To add the Materials grid to a PM Schedule form, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new PM Schedules form or open an existing form in the Form Designer.

  2. Click the tab labeled New Tab.

  3. In the Tab Name field, enter a name, for example, Materials List.

  4. Select a tab layout.

    Select either a Split Horizontal Layout or Split Vertical Layout.

  5. In the Show in Mode area, select Edit Mode.

  6. Click Add Tab.

  7. Select the tab you just created.

  8. Expand the Grids list in the elements pane.

  9. Drag and drop the Available Materials grid onto the first zone of the tab.

  10. Drag and drop the Selected Materials grid onto the second zone of the tab

  11. Position the tabs where you want them in the tab order.

  12. Click Save to save your changes.

Users can now add materials to an asset and tie those materials to a PM schedule. Those materials can in turn be generated into material issues when a work order is generated from a PM schedule created with this form
