Add a Grid

Once you have created a new a tab you can add a grid to it. Since it is important in your organization to track the time and materials it takes to complete a work order, you can add a tab that contain the time and materials fields.

For this lesson, the Form Designer page should be open, displaying your Corrective Maintenance Work Order custom form and the Time and Materials tab.

Add a Grid

To add a grid, follow these steps:

  1. In the Groups and Fields area, expand Grids.

  2. Drag and drop Time Charges into the top zone.

  3. Drag and drop Material Issues into the bottom zone.

  4. Clink Save.

  5. Click OK.

View the Form

To view your new form as if you were put it into production, follow these steps:

  1. From the Work Orders menu, select New.

  2. In the toolbar Form field, select Corrective Maintenance Work Order.

  3. Click the Main tab.

    The required fields are: Description, Account, Skill, Type, Status, Sub Status, and Priority.

  4. In the Description field, enter Too Hot.
  5. From the Account drop-down menu, select Engineering Department.
  6. From the Skill drop-down menu, select HVAC.

  7. From the Type drop-down menu, select Corrective Maintenance.
  8. From the Status drop-down menu, select PENDING.

  9. From the Sub Status drop-down menu, select PENDING REQUEST.

  10. From the Priority drop-down menu, select Routine.

  11. Click Save.

    The Time and Materials tab appears.

  12. Click the Time and Materials tab.

    The Time Charges and Material Issues grids that you added are displayed.

To improve performance, the same grid should not be added to multiple tabs on a single form and it is recommended that you put most grids and reports on full tabs, rather than split tabs
