TMS Control Panel Job Manager
The TMS Control Panel Job Manager is an application suite that is used to execute some of the time consuming, processor-intensive tasks in TMS, such as PM generation and report rendering. There are several performance benefits to the TMS Control Panel Job Manager:
-
Increased responsiveness of the TMS application.
-
Allows larger organizations to use a different server for processor-intensive task processing.
-
Fire-and-forget functionality to certain tasks.
The TMS Control Panel Job Manager consists of a Windows service called the TMS Job Manager and an executable called the TMSJobProcessor. Together, they manage and execute requested tasks.
Configuration of the TMS Control Panel Job Manager is a system administrator functionality only (configuring for more Job Processors, moving the Job Manager to a new physical server, and so on.). There is nothing in the user interface in the TMS application that is related to the TMS Control Panel Job Manager.
TMS Control Panel Job Manager Default Configuration
You do not have to configure the TMS Control Panel Job Manager, if you do not want to. It is installed by the TMS installer package, just like the TMS Control Panel Windows server.
