Verify Model Number Field is Present

Another key component of using TMS to track refrigerant usage is the Model Number and Description fields located on the Models tab in the Vendors module. You will recall enabling the General Setup Manufacturer option Show Vendor Model Numbers earlier in the process.

Use the Model Number Description field to record the maximum charge rate of refrigeration or air-conditioning equipment.

The maximum charge rate (in pounds) is the maximum amount of refrigerant in a system. This information is located on the name plate or boiler plate on the refrigeration or air-conditioning equipment. In addition to the maximum charge rate, the boiler plate should contain the model number, serial number, and the type of refrigerant that the equipment takes. Know this information ahead of time, particularly the maximum charge rate and the refrigerant type.

  1. In the Vendor Edit screen, click the Modelstab.
  2. Click the Add New Model Number button.
  3. In the Model Number field, enter the model number of the asset.
  4. In the Descriptionfield, enter the maximum refrigerant charge rate for the equipment. The value must be numeric, with no unit of measure (for example, entering 80indicates 80 pounds). It’s important to get this value correct, because the Stationary Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Report uses this field to calculate the percent loss of refrigerant. See “Reporting on Refrigeration Tracking” below.
  5. Click OK.

Use the Description field to enter the maximum refrigerant charge rate for the equipment.
