Monthly Emergency Generator Report

The Monthly Emergency Generator Report is based upon the Joint Commission's 20/40 rule (EC 02.05.07 EP 4). Generators are tested 12 times per year, but not less than 20 days or greater than 40 days apart, for 30 continuous minutes under load.

The Monthly Emergency Generator Report is a Type - Designer report that looks for a PM schedule. Frequency of Daily (Frequency: Days Interval, Days: 1) for assets that have an asset Category code of GNR and a Description of Generator. However, this report can be modified to use whatever asset Category code you would like to use.

The Next Available Test Date is equal to Last Completed date (on the PM schedule), plus 20 days, and the Next Due By Date is equal to the Last Completed date (on the PM schedule), plus 40 days.

A key factor in this report solution is the use of the Variable Schedule option in the PM module. If this option is enabled, then TMS skips a PM generation if there is still an outstanding work order that hasn't been completed. When the PM work order's Status has been changed to Completed, the Next Due Date of the PM schedule gets automatically forwarded by the Frequency factor. In this case, the Next Due Date is 20 days after the day the Status was changed to Completed.

The Monthly Emergency Generator Report can also be included as the content report for delivery via an Email Report.
