Asset Procedures
Asset ProceduresIf the Assets module form you're using has the Procedures grid on it, you can associate procedures with an asset. Doing so allows you to pass the procedures list to any non-Scheduled (type not in PM, PE, or IN) work order tied to the asset.
One primary use case for assigning one or more Procedures to an asset is to ensure the resource performing service on the asset has the proper startup/shutdown, lock-out/tag-out, or other pre-designed procedure for that asset.
To associate procedures with an asset, follow these steps:
-
Create and save a new asset, or open an existing asset record.
-
If you are not already using it, select the form that contains the Procedures grid from the Form drop-down menu.
-
Select the tab that contains the Procedures grid (the tab itself might be called "Procedures").
-
In the Procedures grid area, click the New button.
-
The Procedure pop-up window opens. In the Procedure Number field, enter a known Procedure Number, or click the Lookup button and search for it.
-
Enter the Estimated Time it will take to perform the procedure that this asset needs. (This can be changed on the work order record later.)
-
Click Save to add this procedure, or Another to add this procedure and start another.Once you've tied one or more procedures to this asset record, the procedure/procedures will be passed to any non-Scheduled (type not in PM, PE, or IN) work orders created for it.
