Overview of Asset Transfer
Sometimes, there is a need to move assets, their preventive maintenance scheduling information, and any associated, active work orders from one segment to another segment. The Asset Transfer wizard allows you to do this while still retaining the work order history and PM schedule history in the segment where it occurred.
For example, your organization might have ten hospitals, each tracked with a different TMS segment. Equipment is allowed to move between the different hospitals/segments. When a piece of equipment is moved from Hospital A to Hospital B, the Asset Transfer wizard can be used to move the asset records from Segment A to Segment B, along with active PM schedules and active work orders.
The wizard guides the user through the process of ensuring that the asset related data remains complete and valid in the new segment.
You must have Admin level user permissions for the Asset Edit screen, before you can use the Asset Transfer wizard. If you do not have those rights, the Asset Transfer button in the Asset Edit toolbar will be disabled. If you are an end user and feel you need access to the wizard, contact your TMS system administrator.
